Last Monday, I paid another visit to Netherhall School to take some more photos and retrieve any items of use, before the old Netherhall Lower school is pulled down in the next few weeks. I was accompanied by Jonathan & Nicola Phillips, Sandra Day and Elizabeth Toller-Brown. I managed to takes lots of archive pics and we got some great archive pieces, like the old classroom signs and wing signs :)
If you'd like to support the work that I do, why not buy me a virtual coffee, I'd be really grateful and it will help keep me going!

This is my mum, Elizabeth Toller-Brown walking our dogs in the grounds of Cherry Hinton Hall. The classic Silver Cross pram has my little sister Lynsey in it. You can see the old greenhouses, used by the Council, that used to be at the back of the Hall building.
This is my mum Elizabeth Toller-Brown with her nephew, my cousin, Christopher Brown, siting on a log by the Hinton Brook in the grounds of Cherry Hinton Hall c.1960.
My mother Elizabeth Toller-Brown and her brother, my uncle, Dave Toller playing in what was the fields behind their new house in Netherhall Way c.1956. Beaumont Road estate has since been built upon these fields.
This is a view from the top of Lime Kiln Hill looking across the City of Cambridge. It's one of the great places to see the city and fantastic sunsets. It's also little known, many people not realising that such a 'hill' occurs by the city! In the picture is my mother Elizabeth Toller-Brown and her brother, my uncle Dave Toller - they had just moved from the other side of town (Oxford Road) to just towards the bottom of this hill on Netherhall Way.
About & how to use:
This is the blog page for my articles, memories and archives relating to the archaeology and local history of Cherry Hinton, a village to the south east of Cambridge UK. The area covered is the old Parish of Cherry Hinton which today includes the Ward of Queen Edith's. These are my own thoughts and theories which are always a work in progress as research never ends, it's a place to put my working notes. If you would like to use or reference any of my work, please do get in touch and be sure to reference writing or pictures in the correct way, thanks in advance :) As this section gets more populated with posts, you will be able to use the search bar above or the A-Z menu below to search any items of interest.
