The Alms Houses Grantchester April 1977 - just after the fire (Colin Bass)
Below are a collection of photographs taken by Colin Bass of the Alms Houses in Grantchester between. You can see the original thatch in the first photographs. Then, in the spring of 1977 there was a very bad fire the results of which you can see below. By December 1977 the Alms Houses were restored but now with a titled roof.
