Hi I'm Michelle Bullivant and I work as a professional local historian, landscape archaeologist, freelance lecturer and researcher. I also specialise in special occasion makeovers and am an expert on historical makeup.
I'm also involved in consultancy and research projects, compiling the history of sites and working on conservation plans, planning and funding applications. Current and recent projects include:
Organising the bi-annual Cambridgeshire History Fair, Working in partnership with BBC learning - for history related programming, Providing 1940's makeup demonstrations to 40's events including Ramsey 1940's weekend and Haddenham Blossoms and Bygones, Cherry Hinton Hall, Cambridgeshire (for Cambridge City Council, Cambridge International School and the Friends of Cherry Hinton Hall), Media Projects East - Mardling from coast to broad, working with local characters, historians and film-makers to find some of the strangest and most macabre tales to come out of the region. reworking the stories using modern digital tools such as film, animation and web design, Teaching Landscape & Local History for adult education.
I give lectures to a variety of groups on both history based subjects and demonstrations on skincare & makeup application. I am also available to give guided, local history tours. I can be seen at many of the 1940's events taking place across the country and I specialise in doing period makeovers at these events.
I have also contributed to broadcasts about local history on the radio and within other media.
