My friend Ed Frost & I were involved in helping to build the Iron Age Farm at Hinchingbrook Country Park. My children helped out doing demonstrations of thatching and wattle & daub wall making for the public.
It always smelt so lovely there when a bonfire was on the go and the stews that got cooked on the fire tasted amazing. The atmosphere was complete when the country park ranger (Pat) brought alone his sheep and animals for open days.

I visited this wonderful place during a field trip to Chippenham with
Twigs Way (Garden Historian). This picture was taken in the magical old walled garden before the site was restored. As lovely as the site now is, I am so glad I got to see it when it was still run down and stuck in a time warp, you could almost hear the echos from the past all around you.
