This morning I have been contacted about an exciting event for Cherry Hinton in Cambridge, it is linked in with the national event The Big Lunch.
The event for Cherry Hinton is due to take place on Sunday 18th July 2010 and it is hoped it will be on the Cherry Hinton recreation ground.
The aim of this event is to bring the local community together and to enable neighbours to meet each other and have a fantastic fun day. The success of an event like this depends entirely on local individuals and groups getting involved and contributing to certain aspects of the event: decorations, food, entertainment, activities etc. You might want to help with bunting... face-painting... litter-picking... a little musical number... stewarding... publicity... story-telling... organizing a rounders game... or all kinds of other aspects. This is just an initial email to let you know that these initial plans are underway and to ask you:Would you like to be involved? We hope so! If you are interested, please email back with a YES and we will then be in touch in a few weeks to let you know the plan so far and to discuss how you could get involved. We look forward to receiving a groundswell of initial interest!
